ipDisplays Quick Start
Thank
you for using ipDisplays. This quick start should help you understand what is available and
how to get started quickly.
With this file structure (on the CD if running from a CD) is a collection of
API tools and documents.
How to verify that the ipDisplay works correctly.
- Plug in the power cable and
network cable into the ipDisplay.
- Power on the unit using the
switch located on back - without a USB stick inserted into the unit.
- Verify that the IP Address
was retrieved from your network via DHCP servers.
- Make a note of the IP Address
because that is likely the address that will be used again.
How
to get the ipDisplays unit working quickly.
- Locate the USB stick that
came with the ipDisplay.
- Insert the USB stick into the
ipDisplay.
- Power on the ipDisplay.
- Access the ipDisplay by typing in the unit’s IP address. For example: http://192.168.0.31/Site
- Open the Settings page to
configure any sign settings.
How to send the first message after the display USB stick is installed.
- Open the layouts page by
clicking the "Layouts" link on the left navigation.
- Create a layout or use an
existing layout. Make a note of the Layout's target id.
- Open the messages page by
clicking the "Messages" link on the left navigation.
- Type in a new message and
specify the message timeout to a desired numbers such as 30 seconds.
- Specify the desired layout
target id noted previously with an order of 1 to show as the first message
for the target.
- Press the "Add /
Update" button to send the message.
- Watch the display for this
message to show when the layout plays again.
